COLYTON IS A GREAT BASE TO EXPLORE

We have a Tramway from Colyton to Seaton, paddleboarding at Seaton & Beer, a small zoo in Axminster, Fossil Finding in Lyme and the Donkey Sancturay. Theatre at Lyme or Bridport, Fishing & sea boat rides from Beer and other coasts.

COLYTON

Colyton is an old town with a history going back into the middle ages. A central market place, events, lots of facilities to eat & drink, and just down the road from the Jurassic coast, where you can discover your own fossil.

Colyton makes an excellent centre for exploring the delightful countryside of the East Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and just a short drive to the beautiful beaches at Beer, Lyme Regis, Seaton, Sidmouth, Bridport and Westbay. Exeter, Exmouth and Axminster are also withing easy reach.

BEER

Just down the road Beer is a world heritage site and has been voted the Top Picnic Spot in the UK. Fishing boats still land on the large beach which has large areas for visitors too.

The South West Coast Path is one of the great coastal walks in the area, a section starts here.

SEATON

The larger neighbour of Beer, with similar facilities but more of them, as well as extensive water sports. The Seaton Wetlands Nature Reserve is really worth a visit.

Connects directly to Colyton on the local tram, (in season).

WEST BAY

West Bay, Dorset is a wonderful seaside location for coast and countryside walks, fossil hunting, fishing, scuba diving, river boating, crabbing and much more. Bridport lies one and a half miles inland from the West Bay Coast.

BRIDPORT

Bridport has a wide, vibrant and eclectic cultural mix of events, exhibitions and entertainment. There are several types of markets throughout the month, including a farmers market on the second Saturday of the month and a Vintage Market on the last Sunday of the month (March to October).

LYME REGIS

Going back to the Doomsday book, Lyme is one of the tourist hot spots of the south west. The quaint and stylish seaside town is also gaining a reputation as a foodie’s paradise with numerous seafood bars, bistros and restaurants to choose from. Build your own sandcastle on the sandy beach or take a stroll to the cobb.

axminster

The beautiful traditional market town of Axminster is set on the River Axe within the East Devon Area of Outstanding Beauty and is filled with traditional charm and character. Well worth a visit.
